Founder

Mairy Jewellery was started by Mary after years of studying and working in London, Eindhoven, Gothenburg and Los Angeles.

Each new experience offering a fresh perspective and insight into the world of design, jewellery craft and business.

The first website was launched in 2020 but was preceded by a decade long fascination with jewellery making techniques and an obsession with durability, clasp mechanisms, original findings and material quality which is very much in evidence in today’s collection.

What is sustainability really ?

We ask this, because when global fast fashion brands can have whole webpages and seminars touting their sustainability, it becomes a buzzword devoid of real meaning. How to convey our stance on something that has been diluted so severely?

What we can say is that we are firmly separated from the fast fashion cycle. Collections are realised slowly, and with limited stock in a way we can guarantee responsible consumption and production. Furthermore, the materials we use are the same ones that have been used in jewellery for millennia – infinitely recyclable, reusable and naturally occurring.

Manufacturers are based within the EU, allowing for a closer working relationship and ensuring environmental, social and human rights standards. What counts as a ‘fair wage’ should apply equally to all those involved in the creation of Mairy Jewellery.

We value: health, safety and equality, a clean environment, conscious consumption and goods meant to last a lifetime. Can we say that we are making a difference to each one of the UN’s Global Sustainable Development Goals? (e.g. Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Peace, Justice…etc.) not yet, but watch this space x
